A while ago...ok ok I must confess is quite a long time ago...the great blogger that is Simon - Musodad made the pleasure to have him write a guest post for my blog - a musical one I should say that can be found on my blog as The great gig meme in the sky.
I need apologise for not writing this post earlier but didn't want to have duplicate kind of posts. I hope Simon will accept my apology.
Before I go on and start writing my bit I need to tell you that if you would like to chat to Simon these days you can find him on twitter as the @sessionblogger. I think he is cooking something new at the moment but I will not say a thing until I will find out some more about it.
If you will be tagged below you need to write details about 5 gigs - as Simon calls them - and here is a list:
What was your first gig?
What was your worst gig?
What was your best gig?
What was your last gig?
What is your "dream gig"?
And here are my answers:
First Gig – Evanescence ( I mean I've been at other things before like town concerts in my home town in Romania but this is my first big one) at Hammersmith Apollo.
I was really excited to go and see them when my husband booked the tickets for us. Back then we were living in Hammersmith as well - but more about the actual experience at the next question.
Now I just want to share my favourite song "Immortal":
Worst gig - Again it has to be Evanescence. The way the main singer treat her public was really bad. She didn't even know where she was and when the public screamed "London" to her she answered: "Thanks God I'm in a country where people speak English like me." I mean seriously I really like her before but after... Everybody knows that there are so many different nationalities living here. I mean the majority at that concert was from eastern Europe.
Best & Last Gig - Take That - It was beautiful! I went to the gig with my sister. Robbie was in it as well and my sister loves him since she was a teenager. You can read more about the whole experience in my post . They were bad parts as well but not in regards to the group just the drunk ladies.
"Dream" Gig - Tina Turner - she had her last concert in London in march 2009. It was one week before my daughters due date so there was no way I could've make it. I wish I was more brave though as now I lost the chance to see her live. And it was really my last chance unfortunately. Here my favourite song by Tina Turner:
Hope you enjoyed my choices now I would like to tag the below bloggers and friends - The Magnificent Seven like Simon name.
@MsXpat - Tiger Tales
@Mummyglitzer - Mummy Glitzer
Vanessa @Hpmcq-Hpmcq
Claire Louise - @clairelouise82 - A boy with Aspergers
Spencer @sahdandproud - Dad and proud
Katie @snuggle_bubby - Her Pretty
Steph @notsoslummy - Just about average mum
Looking forward to read your posts!
Thanks for the shout outs for my past and present alter egos and no apology required my dear. I was at that Take That gig, it was brilliant. Those lovely lads know how to put on a show. Tina Turner = Legend. Evanescence = rude. Thanks for joining in, I'll add the songs to the Spotify playlist.
ReplyDeletePhew! Happy you are not upset!
DeleteI feel terrible. I have not got around to doing this post yet either. But I will! Before the Summer is out. LOve the fact that your best and worst gig is the same. Tina Turner is a star. I would love to see her live! Ps Simon, I am sorry - I will get around to doing this meme.
ReplyDeleteWill be looking forward to read it. Just let me know when you do ;)
