Children
and their toys...They always want more and more toys! My daughter is like a
little addict when it come to her favourite character toys at the moment. She loves Hello kitty, Dora the Explorer and
Peppa Pig at the moment but she will not say no to Toy Story toys either. When
she spots them - the character toys - in shops or TV she always says
"Mummy,daddy I need that toy!".
I
would love to have lots of space and money to buy her all the toys she wants
but unfortunately this is not the case so my hubby and I have to be really
strong when we say NO as you can imagine.
My
main concern at the moment is the space!
We
are living in a one bedroom apartment and is filled up with toys everywhere.
And that's only from one toddler. With one baby on the way and with no hopes of
moving anywhere bigger soon I am quite concerned. Hubby and I decided to give
away some of the toys or even sell some. When we told my daughter she was quite
puzzled but very keen to keep her favourite toys. She says that she doesn't
want to "share" her toys with anybody. Bless her! It's quite sweet
isn't it?
I
didn't have so many toys when I was a child but not for the reasons I wrote
above. Back then in Romania it was impossible to find so many different kinds.
I was born in 1980 and I grow up as a communist child basically. Of course I
had a couple of dollies and a car but the majority of my toys were plastic
cups, spoons and flour from my grandmother kitchen. I also used to spend a lot
of time running around and playing outside and from my point of view I had the
perfect childhood.
These
days however it is a lot more difficult to keep your children pleased and to
tell you the truth when I see how happy my daughter gets when she receives a
new toy I don't want it any other way. I guess I will just have to be stronger
and get rid of the old toys as my daughter will always demand new ones! Kids do
get bored don't they?
What
do you do when it comes to buying toys and keeping old ones?
